I’m grateful that the week is almost over. I like work well enough but it’s stressful and that’s why they pay me. Although the stress was more about getting my approving manager to approve my time. I’m not sure how difficult that is but he’s managed to miss every deadline so far. And I honestly couldn’t care less because I’m pretty sure they’re good for it and I don’t live paycheck to paycheck but I get hollered at by the staffing company that cut me a check.
I’m still kind of in shock about the 4th of July flooding that hit the hill country south of us. Still something like 170 people missing and I’m just heartbroken about the kids. We had a possum get hit by a car a couple weeks back. After a couple of days the smell was horrible, it gagged me to put it in a bag and put it to the curb. It disturbs me that the rest of the people are going to be found by smell. We’ll be seeing a lot more of this as the infrastructure goes ignored in favor of tax breaks for billionaires, billions for the new gestapo, and an increase to the military budget. Oh well, I’m banking in the market right now so hopefully I’ll make enough to buy that property in the middle of nowhere and retire. I can do this.
I got the back yard mowed today, I actually used the electric to do it. It’s by far better at bagging than the gas mower. It was also nice to just push a button to start it and the one battery made it through the whole yard. I couldn’t get the battery out at the end but I’ll figure it out. Oh and I never realized this but the stinking door to the shed needed a beg screw driven into the hinge, now it doesn’t drift closed and closes smoothly. Sigh, it’s been like that for years and I just now figured it out.
