Progress made on a Sunday

Well, I didn’t have the momentum that I did yesterday, I still made some good progress today. It started off by cleaning up the back room closet and the wires in networking components that live there. It’s not like I have a routed switch or anything like that, and I only have four network lines going out. I couldn’t even tell you where they’re going to, but I’m assuming they’re necessary. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have plugged them in. That took about 45 minutes all told. In that time, AT&T managed to text me to tell me that my internet router was offline. That was kind of nice of them, even though completely unnecessary in this particular situation. It’s all kind of hanging by a chain in the components that are actually sitting on a ladder. That gives me ample room to get to the north side of that closet to do what I need to do.

We went over to Mom’s today to wish them a safe trip as they’re taking off for Erie next weekend. We showed up a little late as they were already in full swing on working on outdoor stuff. So we only hung around for about 15-20 minutes. Then, I did a little bit of retail therapy at Harbor Freight. I got new blades for the saber saw, two new Sanders that go with the Harbor Freight batteries as well as an oscillating tool. I also got Snap Ring Pliers, so I should have everything to replace the ball joints on the Xterra. I still don’t know if I want to farm that job out or not.

When we got home I put the oscillating tool to work squaring up the hole in the closet. It was very rough when I started but now I have square dimensions as well as 2x4s to to screw into. I need to do a couple more of those but all told I’m happy with the progress. Next steps are to get the drywall from the garage and cut it to fit and then mount it. I’ll have to Mud it all in too, but I’m hoping by the end of next weekend to have a completed.
