I wrapped up work in short order and it’s Friday! Beautiful day out. I pulled out the smoker. We picked up 4 racks of ribs yesterday at Sam’s club. There are 4 racks so 1 rack per rack and rotate as needed. The premise is that we’re going to try freezing the finished ribs. I was told by Billy that it’s completely doable so we’re going to cook and cool them and then vacuum seal them. We’ll do them next Wednesday so we don’t have to do anything for Thanksgiving except show up.

Good Football
Since the Cowboy’s are circling the bowl about to be flushed, it’s nice to watch a good football game regardless of who’s in it. Tonight was no exception with the Steelers and Browns playing in Cleveland. It started out clear and was a white out by the end of the night. The long shots they took of the stadium and the snow actually made me miss it.
I think I’d like to try living in the snow again. Yeah I’m a little more sensitive to cold but I’ve got a $70k machine that would laugh in the face of bad roads. I probably would need some chains but that’s doable.

Grocery Gathering
I blew $113 at the grocery store today. I bought strictly the sales so 5 tubs of Blue Bell, 60 cans of assorted sodas, 5 pounds of butter, 4 bags of Doritos, and a 5 and a half pound ribeye roast. Kroger has this neat little trick in that they don’t take any discounts off until you click pay now. It’s kind of like a casino machine, you’re root for it to pay off and take the money off. It was at $240 then I hit the pay now and it line itemed $127 off in discounts. Rock on.
I went to the gym today and I even managed to run a couple of laps. It felt good to get the pulse up to 151 for the first time in a while. It’s painful but it’s gotta be good for you.
So I think that Sandy and I are going to talk to Ron to get a spot for the RV up on the Peach street property. I need a 30 by 15 foot spot, I think I could get by with 12 feel but the 30 is pretty set. I’m thinking that maybe it could fit behind the fence in the courtyard, that would be nice. It would be great to have a place to put in and have water, electric and sewer. That would be nice so we can go up when there’s a reason. We’ll ask and see more when we visit the family on Thanksgiving.

Fall Like Day
I got some work done today and I think that we’re coming into the home stretch so that’s cool. Managed to take a bike ride and walked around the mall, probably the last week to do that for the year because, historically, you don’t want to be anywhere near the mall for the Christmas rush. It’s not like it was but it’s still pretty crazy.
It’s nice to walk around the mall and see what’s changed. Watch them get ready for the holiday’s. I did a brief walk through Dillard’s and it felt strange, it reminded me of my retail career and after 30 years not much has changed. It made me want to go to this grocery store I knew that reminded me of the 70’s.
I need to get my career back in the right direction. Get started on the certs and get a real job.

Rainy Monday
Well if it’s gotta be Monday it might as well rain. I’m happy with that as I actually like rainy days, don’t care for the Monday’s but who does? The Carpenters don’t like either (ha ha).
It still turned out to be a nice day. Sandy and I took a walk around the neighborhood this evening. We walked almost two miles. I’ve been biking so much it’s been a while since we’ve gone for a walk. It was kind of nice.

Sunday Blues
I didn’t feel like getting out of bed this morning, I don’t think I really crawled out until 11am. I got some of the baseboards pinned in and just have two more to go although that may wait until tomorrow. I’d like a nice quite evening. We did get a bike ride in, it was 4.8 miles just around the neighborhood, it was a day for it.
At least we didn’t have to watch the Cowboy’s lose today, they lose tomorrow night on Monday night football. Hopefully I’ll knock out work stuff in short order tomorrow and it’ll be a quick work week.

Finishing Nailer
I started the last finishing pieces of the back bedroom which is putting the baseboard and trim back up. The air compressor and nailer combination that I inherited after Dad passed work perfectly. Still need to pin the rest of the baseboards down and caulk them but we’re a step closer being done.
Also, this is the first post I’ve done in several years that is actually being done for my cell phone. I was arguing with the application for several months trying to get it to work right and update my posts. But it didn’t work. I finally uninstalled and reinstalled the app and then logged in and lo and behold everything is working great. So now I should be able to update this daily in a much easier fashion. That should include adding pictures but we’ll get around to that as time allows.

Passing
I’ve been giving a lot of thought to passing recently. Passing of time, passing of people, passing of feelings. I guess in this sense, change and passing are interchangeable. I seem to be at a crossroads in my life. I’ll be lucky if I have 20 years ahead of me and it’s become painfully obvious that almost every decision that I’ve made has been wrong. Everything I’ve done to procure my peace and happiness has just led me further away from it. And while I am very grateful for the life I have and the gifts fate has given to me, I just feel like I could have accomplished so much more had I made the right decisions or had the right partner in crime.
I need to find a direction, something to give me hope. Hope for peace and purpose in my life. I’ll find it or die trying…

Haircut Day
I woke up and went to work so to speak but I’m kind of waiting for directions so I didn’t have much to do. Decided to go ahead and get a haircut, Nice 30 year old lady did my hair and she was quite nice. When I got back I went for a bike ride and did about 5 miles. It was nice to be out in the fresh air.
I then went to Kroger and got some 6oz fillets and a dozen roses because I hadn’t done that in a while. Cam home and took the bike back out to the gym and walked a mile or so, came home and cooked up the rest of the mushrooms and when Sandy came home we had eggs, mushrooms and cheese.
Sandy also had a doctor appointment and they’re going to fix her nose. So hopefully I won’t be the next one in the hospital. I still haven’t gotten a bill for my little trip to the hospital but the insurance company issued and EOB so it shouldn’t be long now.
In a piece of good news I got the notice that a FedEx package will be here tomorrow, so my server will be here tomorrow and I’m kind of psyched about it. More to come on that front soon.

Trip Up North
We were heading up to David’s this morning and I got into the truck and for the first time since I’ve had it, it wouldn’t start. The batteries seem to be dead, I tried jumping in and nothing. I put the charger on it and we switched to the Xterra and headed up to Valley View.
We were just pulling into David’s road and they were going the other way, we turned around and caught up with them and off to lunch we went. A little place in downtown Valley View, I didn’t catch the name but there was a cute little blond waitress and they had good burgers and fried food.
Got back to David’s and I worked about 20 minutes and I was hurting. We weren’t there too much longer, we got home and just chilled. I think tomorrow I’m going to attach the last part of the floor in the back. There’s going to be football on and I can power though it. Hopefully. More to come on that point.
