  • Sunday, but not bad

So the girls took off for Turner Falls and I did my best to study, that didn’t work out as well as I would have liked it to but still moving forward. It was a pretty but chilly day. Tomorrow is MLK day so it’s not a real Monday in the aspect that a lot of our clients are off so I don’t have any meetings except internal. When the girls got back we had meatloaf with green beans and mashed potatoes. The potatoes were premade garlic mashed and Shelly doesn’t like garlic, poor girl…

So yesterday I had said that dad never got hold of me. As I’m walking into the kitchen today I look down and see this something or other, I reach down to pick it up and it’s a paper towel that dad had formed into a monkey face, I’m guessing the cats found it and were playing with it, or were they? Happy birthday weekend dad! Thanks for saying hi!

  • Beautiful Day

It’s sunny and 73 today, this is the plus about living in Texas, I’m in shorts and a t-shirt and doing yard work. Happy to say my physical fitness goals are still going well, I’ve only got 2.5k steps today but I can knock that out in short order. Still have more yard work to do.

I need to hit the books, I only have three more chapters to knock out to take this test and I’m looking at it and stopping. I’ll start forcing myself soon, maybe when the weather takes a turn tomorrow.

Also still have the upgrade to the house that we’re looking to do. First and foremost is the ground redo for access to the other bay of the garage. Just been so busy with work and such. Oh well, I’ll keep making progress for as long as the good Lord sees fit to keep letting me wake up.

  • Sandy’s Back

So my time of being unsupervised is over, good riddance, I’m fine if I have nothing to do but I’ll actively look for ways to avoid what I’m supposed to be doing if there’s work to be done.

Shelly came back with Sandy, it’s nice to have house guests. Tonight I’m trying my luck at pot roast, I’ve done it before but I don’t remember how it came out, I think last time was in the slow cooker, this time it’s in the pressure cooker, same results but in a fraction of the time hopefully.
This is the recipe I used sans horse reddish, although that seemed to be the hook that got this a really good review, I just don’t fancy horse reddish. If it turns out worth a damn I’ll add it to the recipe list.

  • Friday and Unsupervised

Sandy took off for Erie and left me unsupervised, Adrian and I went out and got some wings at Bronco’s and then to the wounded duck to shoot some pool. It was good to go and hang out, hadn’t done that in a long time. So things are good and the weekend is here.

  • 1/6/21 Anniversary

A year ago we watched as a group of idiots led by the idiot whisperer tried to take over the United States. How embarrassing to be an American. We need to atone for this, we need to bring back the summary execution of traitors. This bitch was the only one given an appropriate sentence for 1/6/21, if we don’t want to waste the ammo, they should at least be in jail for the rest of their natural-born lives.

  • Facebook Folies

So I’ve got enough stuff that I want to gripe about that I feel I’m doing a disservice to myself by keeping it bottled in. Should I gripe here? I could and do, in fact, it’s my go-to place to state what’s on my mind. But let’s face it, this doesn’t get read by anyone, I’m actually fine with that this is more for me to read in my old age anyways.

In order to be part of the braying masses and asses that are on social media, I’m going to clone myself. I tried doing this by using pictures found on the net but couldn’t get past the part that this was actually someone, now with AI and photoshop, I can have a clean account to work with. More on this later.

  • A New Day/Year

I ran across this as I was pursuing the news before starting to get things done, “100 ways to slightly improve your life without really trying“. I enjoyed the simplicity of some of the things and will try to incorporate them in my daily life, anything to move forward and be better:)

I got up today and did a mile on the treadmill to start the day. It’s only 15 or so minutes and it gets the blood moving, yeah it’s not the most glamorous way to start the day but letting my body know it’s going to be doing something today is a good thing and it’s 2k steps closer to my 5k daily goal which I’ll be a little stricter with myself about doing.

In other news, looks like Sandy is off to PA for a surprise party, good for her, I need to start thinking about doing that but will do that when I have my degree one day. As I approach 50, there are things that are becoming more important to me, probably because I’m realizing that there aren’t an infinite number of years in front of me, not that there ever were but I never realized how quickly time goes.

  • Sundays…

Well it’s Sunday again, and the first Monday of the new year is tomorrow. And the next long weekend isn’t until May:( Oh well, I can’t complain too much. The project that I was supposed to get done by the 6th was completed last year (ha ha). So all I really need to do tomorrow is to get my hours in for December and we’re good to go.

I did good today, did 2 miles on the treadmill to make sure I’m getting my steps in, got laundry done AND put away as well as changed the sheets and cleaned the bedroom. That’s the only way I know to make the Sunday blues a little more tolerable. I’m going to try to get on a schedule tomorrow, getting up and doing a 15-minute session on the treadmill in the AM. As I start my first new year as a non-smoker, it’s time to step it up a notch in regards to getting into shape.

  • Happy New Year 2022!

We got a good walk in mid-morning, it’s a good thing we did, it was about 70 then and it’s down to 50 just a few hours later, it’s supposed to go down to 21 tonight, yuck…
I tried to make ghee for the first time in my life today, it’s basically melting butter and I’m not sure what it’s good for I’ve heard good things about it. If it turns out well I’ll go ahead and post the recipe. A good start to the year, and I’m still looking forward to the things to come.

  • Final Day of the Year

2021 is at a close and it’s time to bid a fond (or not so fond) farewell to the old year and welcome in 2022, I like it better already, easier to type:)
