  • Christmas Weekend

Well, Christmas 2021 is over, it was nice.

    Christmas Eve (12/24)

We stayed at home, nothing much going on until going over to sisters at 5:30pm to have dinner. Her friend Alean was there and so were Mom and Ron, it was really good, we had beef tenderloin roast and it was really good. We got to see Charolette the cat and the poor thing is so old. Still loves being picked up. We finished the evening by heading downtown and taking our picture at the Christmas tree in Sundance Square.

    Christmas Day (12/25)

Decided to take the RV up to David’s and hang out up there for a day. It’s nice to go up there because we can just hook up and when leaving the state part is half a mile up the road and has a dump station. David and Keli went to the Park’s house so when Sandy and I got there we were the only ones there, we set up and headed to the state part for a hike considering it was 80 degrees and beautiful. We hiked about 4 miles, go back and it wasn’t long before David, Keli, Claudia, Richard, and Jeff showed up. We hung out, ate and enjoyed the company and a fire. Also got to shoot David’s new 44 mag revolver, it would be hard to stay on target for a follow up shot but with that weapon if you hit it the first time there’s nothing left to hit.

  • December Men’s Breakfast

It’s always good to start a Saturday at men’s breakfast at First Christian Church. Good food and lots of it and I usually get a chance to catch up with Adrian. This Saturday we had the pleasure of seeing Charles Mason too, always lucky to see these two.

  • Stars Game @ AAC

For the first time in two years we got a chance to take the train into Dallas and catch a Stars game!!! But we lost in pretty spectacular fashion 4 to 1. Oh well, they keep this up and seats will be a lot cheaper than $50 apiece:)

  • Memorial Day 2021

I deeply appreciate the sacrifices that were given by those who fought for our freedoms. I regret that I was not able to be of service to my country in whatever capacity they would have needed me. I tried but the cyst on my wrist caused them to take a pass on me. Kind of a sour grapes situation for me but I’m trying to be content in the higher plan of the path that I’m on, whatever that may be.

While the weekend was kind of a washout for Sunday and Monday, we did get to spend Saturday being social and visiting. Started off at Phillip and Michelle’s to see the new pool and catch up. They quit smoking a couple of years ago on Chantix so I was able to thank them for the insight and share my success. Got to see David and Keli along with Ronda, Age and Hanna and Colter. It was good to catch up with everyone.

Then we stopped by to see one of my favorite vets Tim over at his shop. Got a chance to see how TJ pulled apart his truck for cleaning and I’m going to do the same thing this fall with the Chevy.

  • Happy Mothers Day!

I think we all think we have the best mom, why wouldn’t we, deep down I think each of us individually has the best mom because let’s face it, no one will love us more than our moms. The true definition of unconditional love.
My one true hope is that I’ve made up for all the hurt and concern my actions have caused. The path that god has me on was to finish strong after a shaky start, sorry about that mom:)

  • River Oaks has grown

As Sandy is out of town I was looking for a reason to get out of the house so I met up with Adrian, Rhonda, Hanna and Colter to help Hanna get the rest of the stuff out of her apartment and into the new rental house. After getting completely lost looking for the apartment, we were going to Heim’s BBQ in River Oaks. It’s been a minute since I’ve drive White Settlement to Roberts Cut Off and my jaw was dropped, there are 4 story apartments along the Trinity for almost a mile. The house I grew up in is listed on Zillow for 192k. It’s good to see the revival but I can’t believe how much things are costing over there.

  • The Big Four Nine

So today is my 49th birthday, sigh. Hindsight is always 20/20 so in looking back there are a lot of things that I’d like to go back and do differently, but you can’t and you waste time thinking about it, learn from the past, plan for the future, and live in the present. I’ll try to make sure I do this daily.
So aside from 49, that means 50 is only a year away and it’s the round numbers that get me. Well by then I hope to have finished making the positive changes that will carry me through the golden years of my life. Here’s to progress!!!

I got my first shot of the Moderna vaccine for Covid today too. And to top it all off mom and sis came over for a visit. It was a great day to be alive and I’m looking forward to the next trip around the sun.

  • Mom’s Birthday

So four days after dads birthday and four days before mine is mom’s birthday. Oddly enough Sandy’s dad was born on the 19th also, and our friend Katie, so there are a lot of birthdays today LOL.

I was happy we got to take mom out to Cheddar’s for lunch, she cracks me up, ordered the small lunch steak because she’s on a diet and then gets the loaded baked potato which has as many calories as the steak. Gotta love her!

  • Christmas Day

We slept in and then started the cooking, we had ribs, baked beans, something that was supposed to be au gratin potatoes but came out like cheesy mashed potatoes. But a good time was had by all.

  • Merry Christmas!

It’s Christmas eve and we just got back from my sisters where we had filet magnon with baked mashed potatoes and broccoli and carrots. Mom, Sandy, Cortney, Garth, Jason and I had a wonderful time.
