For ages I’ve had open source applications that I’ve been dying to run and contribute to, or at least try them out. With the break through on the reverse proxy methodology I’ve been able to try a bunch of them out. Immich, Vikunja, Kimia and Linkwarden are the main ones that I’ve been playing with. But then the server rebooted. It of course knocks out my NextCloud and now it torps all the podman containers as well. This is a serious downer. Especially considering that I now need to launch each of the containers as the user that container runs under.
One would think that there’s a neat and clean way to restart these services but, you would be thinking wrong. The only thing I’ve found is quadlets which I’m seriously scratching my head over how bad it is. A simple podman compose up statement seems to need to be converted to a podman run command targeting the same configuration files as the compose… Doesn’t make a bunch of sense to me but I’m still learning.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
